First Pro-Am victory for Black Falcon and another podium at VLN6

The sixth race of the 2017 VLN championship didn’t live up to the high expectations of Team BLACK FALCON, with a sixth place finish overall for their SP9 class Mercedes-AMG GT3 and a second place in the V6 class balanced by two retirements from the team’s four entries in the race. However, yet another V6 podium at least added to the team’s trophy cabinet.

At the 24h-race in Portimao (PT) the Mercedes-AMG Testteam BLACK FALCON competed with the new Mercedes-AMG GT4 in its second race. Saud Al Faisal (SA), Burkard Kaiser (DE), Fidel Leib (DE), Aurel Schoeller (DE) and Manuel Metzger (DE) finished the Mercedes-AMG GT4’s first ever 24h-race 17th overall and without major problems.

Black Falcon scores podium position at Porsche Carrera Cup season highlight

The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany’s season highlight at the Norisring saw Black Falcon take two podium positions. In the race on Saturday, Christian Engelhart claimed the third position overall. Gabriele Piana finished fifth bringing home his best result yet. Carlos Rivas claimed the second position in the amateur cup. Sunday’s race marked the beginning of the second half of the season. Again, Engelhart was the highest ranked Black Falcon driver, finishing fourth in front of 125,000 spectators. Gabriele Piana crossed the chequered flag in eighth position while Carlos Rivas crossed as fifth of the amateur cup.

Team BLACK FALCON have achieved a fantastic class victory in the Pro-Am category at the Spa 24 Hours. Having fought their way to the front by the halfway point of the race, the four-strong driver crew of the #16 Mercedes-AMG GT3 controlled the class from then on, stretching away from the opposition to win by a margin of over a lap from the second-placed car after 546 laps of racing. They finished the race in an impressive 12th position overall.
