BLACK FALCON’s return to the top-flight SP9 class of the VLN endurance series has been rewarded with a fine victory at round five of the 2018 championship. It’s a victory made even sweeter by the fact that VLN5 was also the annual six-hour race, making the race distance half as long again as a regular round, proving the team’s expertise in long-distance endurance racing. The win comes off the back of an unbroken run of scoring podiums and class victories in every GT3 race they’ve entered this year.

BLACK FALCON has won the amateur classification of the ninth and tenth races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland at Zandvoort. After a great race to catch up, the team was also able to celebrate third place in the rookie classification on Sunday, which also meant eighth overall. Saturday's race had to be ended prematurely following a mass accident after a safety car phase. Since less than 50 percent of the race distance had been completed by that time, drivers and teams received no points for the ninth championship run.

After a summer of success in GT3 races around Europe in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, BLACK FALCON return to the premier SP9 class of the VLN championship this coming weekend, to take part in the longest race of the season: the annual six-hour marathon held at the Nürburgring. A solo Mercedes-AMG GT3 has been entered in this most challenging of national series, and BLACK FALCON’s AMG will be one of 15 top-line GT3s in a huge field of 173 entrants in VLN 5 spread across 27 classes of massively varying machinery. The team’s fleet of regular VLN entries is larger than ever for the season's highlight, comprising a trio of Mercedes-AMG GT4s and a quartet of Porsche, meaning the Black Falcon garages will be even more busy than normal.
