BLACK FALCON impresses at the 24h Qualifiers

BLACK FALCON Porsche 992 GT3 R EAE

BLACK FALCON looks back on a challenging weekend: The team secured strong results in extremely difficult weather conditions at the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers (May 23–25). Five cars competed in two 4-hour races on Saturday and four cars on Sunday on the 24-hour track variant of the Nürburgring – ultimately securing two class victories and podium finishes in four classes. The races provided the team and drivers with the perfect dress rehearsal for the highlight of the season, the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in mid-June 2025.

Challenging conditions in the Eifel
The first race on Saturday proved to be a real challenge: in wet and cold conditions with occasional severe aquaplaning, the Eifel demanded everything from the drivers. On Sunday, the weather was initially more forgiving, but rain in the early and late stages required a lot of tactical skill in tire selection and maximum concentration right up to the checkered flag.

BLACK FALCON Team EAE – Victory after a strong comeback
Porsche 992 GT3 R #48 – SP9-Pro/Am class
  • Race 1: Retired after contact with the guardrail due to aquaplaning
  • Race 2: 9th place overall, 1st place SP9-Pro/Am
The weekend got off to a difficult start for Mustafa Mehmet Kaya, Daan Arrow, Ben Bünnagel, and Gabriele Piana: in the first race, the Porsche 992 GT3 R fell victim to severe aquaplaning in the early stages – the skid was nearly impossible for the driver to avoid, and the car retired early with rear damage. On Sunday, the team made an impressive comeback: after a top qualifying session, in which Gabriele Piana placed the EAE Porsche in 5th place out of 17 cars and as the best Pro/Am car in the entire field, the team delivered a flawless performance and secured the class victory in the SP9 Pro/Am category with ninth place in the overall standings.

Despite the difficult conditions in the first race, BLACK FALCON Team ZIMMERMANN achieved a commanding class victory in the SP7 class with the Cayman GT4 RS. David Barst, Anton Ruf, and Nils Schwenk mastered the difficult conditions with flying colors and left the competition far behind. In the second race, the trio once again drove a flawless race and finished third in the class – another podium result against the strong competition in the SP7 class.

The team once again put in a strong performance in the second race, finishing on the same podium position. In the second race, now with Leon Wassertheurer as the third driver in the cockpit after successfully obtaining his Permit A on Saturday, the team achieved another podium finish: third place in the SP10 class overall and second place in the SP10-AM class were the final results – an all-round successful weekend for the team and strong preparation for the 24-hour race.

48 LOSCH Motorsport by BLACK FALCON – Test outing in difficult conditions
Porsche 992 GT3 Cup #948 – CUP2 class
  • Race 1: Retired after contact with the guardrail
  • Race 2: Did not start as planned
The LOSCH Porsche 992 GT3 Cup (#948) with Noah Nagelsdiek and Carlos Rivas was deliberately scheduled for Saturday only and served primarily as a test run on the 24-hour track variant. However, after slight contact with the guardrail during aquaplaning, the team decided before the end of the first race to retire the car as a precautionary measure with a view to the upcoming 24-hour race in order to avoid unnecessary risks or consequential damage.

Outlook:
With three class victories, several podium finishes, and a strong GT3 performance in the second race, BLACK FALCON confirms its strong form shortly before the 24-hour race. The entire team will now use the remaining weeks to thoroughly prepare the technology, strategy, and team — with the clear goal of competing at the front of the field in all classes at the season's highlight on the Nordschleife.
