Podium finish at ADAC GT4 Germany season finale

BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR

BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR scored a podium finish in the highly competitive Trophy classification at the ADAC GT4 Germany season finale at the Nürburgring last weekend. Axel Sartingen and Daniel Schwerfeld secured third place in their class with the Porsche Cayman GT4 (#33) on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, the duo crossed the finish line in fifth place in the Trophy standings in the last race of the season. Sartingen and Schwerfeld conclude their strong debut season in the ADAC GT4 Germany in fourth position in the Trophy standings after 7 podium finishes in 12 races.

The team from Meuspath started the weekend with a strong performance at the GT4 Germany home race at the Nürburgring. Daniel Schwerfeld put in a near-perfect lap in free practice, which earned the team an excellent second place overall. In the subsequent qualifying session, he drove the second fastest lap in the class and thus ensured a good starting position for the first race.
On Saturday, bright sunshine provided perfect conditions around the penultimate race of the season. Schwerfeld got off to a good start and gained a few positions in the first laps before his car was spun by a competitor and sent into the run-off zone. He then fought his way back to the front with strong lap times and made up several of the positions he had lost due to the collision. After a very strong performance overall, he handed over the Cayman to Sartingen shortly after the halfway point of the race. During his stint, the experienced driver delivered some impressive fights and secured third place in the Trophy standings for the team with fast lap times and a flawless performance.
On Sunday, changing weather conditions before the race start made for difficult track conditions and turned the tyre choice into a lottery. Sartingen started the race as the fourth fastest driver in the Trophy standings as one of numerous drivers with rain tyres. However, the track dried faster than expected, so that he had to reduce the pace after only a few laps in order not to overheat the rain tyres. At the pit stop, the team therefore switched to dry tyres, while Schwerfeld took over the car for the final push. In his stint, he confirmed the good performance from the previous day and achieved the fastest race lap in the class before bringing the Cayman home in fifth place in the Trophy.

Timo Frings, Head of Motorsport at BLACK FALCON:
"We are very happy with our debut season in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Axel and Daniel were strong again in the season finale. Both have steadily improved over the course of the season and impressively demonstrated their potential with seven podium finishes in the Trophy standings. With the experience we have gained, we want to fight for the Trophy title next year with Axel and Daniel. My thanks go to our drivers, partners, and our entire team for a successful season in the ADAC GT4 Germany.
However, the season is still not finally over for us: In December, we will travel to Portugal with our entire team for our 'Season Finale Algarve' to round off the 2021 season with four days of testing at the Formula 1 circuit in Portimao."
