BLACK FALCON celebrates two Carrera Cup championship titles and podium finishes in GT4 Germany at Hockenheim

BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR, Loek Hartog

For the BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR, the most successful season so far in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland concluded with two championship titles at the finale at the Hockenheimring. In an extremely exciting finale, Loek Hartog secured the rookie championship in the last race of the season. The day before, the team from Meuspath celebrated the third ProAm championship title in a row with Carlos Rivas, which finally makes Rivas the most successful ProAm driver in the more than 30-year history of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. The very successful weekend was rounded off by two podium finishes for Axel Sartingen and Daniel Schwerfeld in the Trophy classification of the ADAC GT4 Germany.

Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland - season finale
At the season finale of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR started for the first time this season with three Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars. In addition to the two regular drivers Loek Hartog (#4) and Carlos Rivas (#6), Sören Spreng (#5) celebrated his comeback after a two-year break from racing. While Carlos Rivas travelled to Hockenheim with a comfortable lead of 35 points in the ProAm standings, the standings in the Junior Championship were very close with a two-point lead for Loek Hartog (#4).

Loek Hartog (#4, Rookie classification)
Hartog, who is only 19 years old, showed enormous mental strength this weekend and secured the title of the best rookie driver with two flawless races. With this brilliant performance in the "toughest one-make cup in the world", Hartog has recommended himself for a career in professional motorsport.
On Saturday, Hartog completed a strong race and collected important points thanks to second place in the rookie classification. With this good result, he increased the gap to his rival for the season finale on Sunday to twelve points, so that a third place would be enough to win the title in any case. Already in the first lap of the last race, this third place seemed to disappear when Hartog was hit by another car in the hairpin. With a lightning-quick reaction, however, he avoided a complete spin and continued without losing much time. In the further course of the race, Hartog refrained from further fights for positions and secured 16 championship points for third place in class and thus the championship title in the rookie classification with a mature performance.

Carlos Rivas (#6, ProAm classification)
Carlos Rivas fought for the day's win in the ProAm classification from the first to the last lap in Saturday's race. The Luxembourger had started as second of the ProAm drivers and was in a lurking position directly behind the leader for most of the race. On the last lap of the race, Rivas finally made the crucial overtaking manoeuvre when he braked past in the hairpin and took the lead. With his tenth win of the season, Rivas secured his third ProAm championship title in a row prematurely and is now the record champion in the ProAm classification of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland.
In the 16th and final race of the season, Rivas took the class lead directly in the first corner after a good start and did not leave the competition any chance in the further course of the race. Rivas ended his fifth season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland with his eleventh win of the season, thus extending his impressive track record to 39 class victories.

Sören Spreng (#5, ProAm classification)
On his return to the Porsche Carrera Cup, Sören Spreng caught attention with a strong performance already in qualifying. The 35-year-old set the fourth (Saturday) and third (Sunday) fastest times in the qualifying session in the ProAm class with a strong field of eleven drivers. On Saturday, Spreng was in a promising position in the fight for a top five finish after a good start until shortly before the end of the race, before he was set back by a spin and eventually finished eighth. On Sunday, he drove a flawless race and finished a decent sixth in the ProAm standings. After a break of more than two years, Sören Spreng thus celebrated an extremely successful return to the Porsche one-make cup.

ADAC GT4 Germany - Round 5
At the fifth event of the ADAC GT4 Germany, BLACK FALCON entered two cars for the first time. In addition to regular drivers Axel Sartingen and Daniel Schwerfeld, who are sharing the TEXTAR Porsche Cayman GT4 (#33) throughout the season, Saif Assam and Cabell Fisher celebrated their debut in the German GT4 Championship with a Mercedes-AMG GT4 (#68).

Axel Sartingen & Daniel Schwerfeld (Porsche Cayman GT4 #33, Trophy classification)
Axel Sartingen and Daniel Schwerfeld started the weekend with two good qualifying sessions, each securing the third fastest time in the Trophy standings. On Saturday, Sartingen took over the start of the race and created an optimal situation for the second half of the race with a good and flawless stint. Schwerfeld took over the Porsche Cayman GT4 at race half-time and then set off a firework display. As the fastest man on the track in the meantime, he moved up to second place in the Trophy standings and secured another visit to the podium for the duo. In the second race on Sunday, Sartingen and Schwerfeld confirmed their good form from the previous day and finished third in the Trophy standings thanks to another flawless performance.

Saif Assam & Cabell Fisher (Mercedes-AMG GT4 #68, Trophy classification)
After an intensive preparation phase, Saif Assam and Cabell Fisher competed for the first time in a race weekend with BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR at Hockenheim. The Canadian-American duo secured third place in the Trophy standings in both the first and second free practice sessions, setting a remarkable example on the very first day. As Assam and Fisher had previously taken a break from racing for several years, they went for arrival rather than attack in the race. In Saturday's race, they finished fifth in the Trophy standings in their Mercedes-AMG GT4. On Sunday, they finished seventh in class after a solid performance.

Timo Frings, Head of Motorsport at BLACK FALCON:
"I am very proud of Loek, Carlos and the whole team. Looking back, it was a very challenging year with very strong competitors in the ProAm and Rookie classifications. To win both titles at the end of the season and thus achieve all the season's goals is a very special achievement. Furthermore, Sören has impressed with a very good performance on his return to the Carrera Cup.
In the GT4 Germany we also had a very successful weekend. Axel and Daniel are getting more comfortable with each race in their debut season and deservedly finished on the podium twice. Saif and Cabell also did very well in their first GT4 race. The Hockenheim weekend was one of the best team performances of the whole season, now we're looking forward to the GT4 Germany finale on 6/7 November at the Nürburgring!"
