Nürburgring Endurance Series - Preview Race 1 2020

Next Saturday (27.06.2020) the European motorsport season kicks off for BLACK FALCON with the first round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NES). This puts an end to the long wait for the first race at the Nürburgring after the Corona shutdown. At the opening race, the team from Meuspath will start in three different classes. A Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR is entered in the SP-PRO class, a Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the SP8T and a production-based Porsche 991 Carrera in the V6.

At the season opener, BLACK FALCON makes its debut with the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup MR SP-PRO. The latest evolutionary step of the " Wide Body " Porsche known from last season promises performance almost on GT3 level. BLACK FALCON will field the car in the 2020 season together with partner IDENTICA at all NES races and at the 24h Nürburgring. The steering wheel of car number 350 will be shared by the reigning SP10 champion Tobias Müller (Germany), GT3-experienced Marek Böckmann (Germany) and the reigning amateur champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany Carlos Rivas (Luxembourg).

Two more cars will start under the BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR banner. The Mercedes-AMG GT4 number 155 competes in the SP8T class according to the 24h Specials regulations. At the season opener the more than 500 hp strong car will be driven by Stephan Rösler (Germany) and the reigning SP10 champion Tristan Viidas (Estonia).
In 2020, the team will continue to rely on the proven Porsche 991 Carrera in the V6 class for its production-based vehicles. To kick off, Martin Meenen (Germany) and Andreas Renk (Switzerland) will share the cockpit of the 911 with race number 395, which is painted in TEXTAR colours.

"After we have already done some test days in the last weeks, we are very much looking forward to the first race action on the Nordschleife this year. I'm sure we'll experience great motorsport even under these special conditions," said Timo Frings, Head of Motorsport at BLACK FALCON. "For some of our drivers, the first race unfortunately comes too early in the light of the Corona crisis. Later in the season, depending on the travel regulations, we will be able to welcome many familiar faces back to our garage. Among other things we are planning to start with a Porsche Cayman GT4 in the Trophy classification and additional cars in the SP8T, SP7 and V6".

The season opener this year will take place under special conditions. Due to the Corona crisis, the working lane of the pit lane was moved to the paddock. Strict hygiene regulations apply to all participants and no spectators are allowed around the track. Nevertheless, the fans will not be left out: As usual, the entire event can be followed in the livestream on the official website of the organiser. There you will find a commentary in German and English as well as live timing.

The VLN will start next Saturday as usual at 8:30 am with the one and a half hour qualifying, followed by the four hour race at 12:00 am.
