Difficult NLS weekend with two podium finishes

BLACK FALCON scored two podium finishes at the seventh round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series after a turbulent race. The TEXTAR Porsche Cayman GT4 RS (#161) finished second in the SP10 class after a strong closing stint and an overtaking manoeuvre on the last lap. The IDENTICA-Porsche suffered a puncture while in the lead, but after a strong performance the 992 GT3 Cup with start number 102 crossed the finish line in third place in class CUP2.

BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA: Puncture prevents fight for class win
The BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA started the seventh NLS round with a different line-up. Hendrik von Danwitz, last season's regular BLACK FALCON driver, substituted for Paul Harkema and shared the wheel of the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup (#102) with Tobias Müller. After a good start, the duo established themselves in the leading group and took the lead of the CUP2 class within the first half of the race. Müller and von Danwitz also moved up into the top five overall, before they were slowed by a puncture shortly after the halfway point of the race. In the second half of the race, the duo put all their efforts into achieving at least the fastest race lap in their class and, in third place, a place on the class podium.

BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR: Strong performance rewarded with podium finish
The BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR Porsche Cayman GT4 RS CS (#161) was driven by Cabell Fisher, Carsten Palluth and Tobias Wahl at the seventh NLS round. The trio, who already contested the 12-hour race together in this line-up, once again competed in the SP10 class for SRO GT4-specification cars. Fisher, Palluth and Wahl made no mistakes in the opening phase, which was characterised by difficult track conditions, and thus laid the foundation for a strong result. After that, the TEXTAR Cayman was in third place in class for a long time. Thanks to a strong performance in the final stint, second place came within reach. The fight for the podium culminated in a strong overtaking manoeuvre on the last lap. Subsequently, final driver Fisher crossed the finish line with a lead of almost two and a half seconds as second in class.

BLACK FALCON: CUP2-ProAm without a finish for the first time this season
The two BLACK FALCON Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars, which compete in the ProAm classification of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring in the CUP2 class throughout the season, were plagued by bad luck at the seventh NLS round. The number 104 Porsche of Mustafa Mehmet Kaya, Gabriele Piana and Mike Stursberg, which is leading the ProAm standings, had to retire from the race with a broken V-belt after a trip into the gravel. Due to the missing drive of the water pump, the engine overheated and the return to the saving pit became impossible. The sister car with the #103 of Peter Ludwig, Noah Nagelsdiek and Maik Rosenberg had a slight accident in the second half of the race when it started raining again, but was also unable to continue the race due to a damaged radiator.

"Our race went according to plan for around an hour before we retired or fell behind with three out of four cars in a very short space of time. Accordingly, we are not really satisfied with the team result and hope that we will be spared bad luck for the remaining two races. Fortunately, there are also positive aspects: The TEXTAR Cayman went through faultlessly - Cabell, Carsten and Tobias did very well and rewarded themselves with a strong second place in class. In the CUP2 class we again had the fastest car with the IDENTICA-Porsche and are still capable of winning without any incidents. In the ProAm classification we were also on course for victory and podium with both cars, unfortunately we were not able to translate the good team performance into results at this race. However, at the eighth NLS round in a fortnight' time we will be back in full attack."
