Another podium finish for BLACK FALCON at the Lausitzring

Loek Hartog Porsche 992 GT3 Cup auf dem Lausitzring 2022, BLACK FALCON

The eleventh and twelfth rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland (PCCD) at the Lausitzring held exciting moments for BLACK FALCON this weekend. Junior driver Loek Hartog once again proved his excellent form with a podium finish in the overall standings, while Sören Spreng and Carlos Rivas claimed a podium finish and important championship points in the ProAm classification.

Loek Hartog (#4) made a decent start to the weekend in qualifying on Saturday morning, scoring grid position 8 for Saturday's eleventh race and grid position 5 for Sunday's race. In the first race on Saturday afternoon, Hartog made no mistakes in extremely difficult conditions, unlike many of his competitors, and delivered a flawless performance. The Dutchman fought his way up four positions and eventually crossed the finish line in fourth place. In the final classification, Hartog moved up to third place and thus onto the podium, as a competitor was handed a time penalty. In the second race on Sunday, the BLACK FALCON junior driver started from 5th place and brought this position to the finish line after some impressive duels and several overtaking manoeuvres.

In the ProAm classification, Sören Spreng (#5) had a successful weekend. Spreng used the wet conditions in qualifying to his advantage and qualified for the first race on Saturday for grid position 3 and as the second best ProAm driver for Sunday's race. With a commanding performance, Spreng defended his position in the eleventh championship race and claimed his fourth podium finish in the ProAm standings of the current season. On Sunday, the 36-year-old started well into the race, but was then turned around by a competitor and lost a few positions. Despite this incident, Spreng recovered several positions with a fighting performance and finished the race in 4th place.

Carlos Rivas lacked the necessary racing luck at the Lausitzring. In the first race, the Luxembourger slid into the gravel trap while trying to overtake on a wet track and touched a competitor in the process. Due to the subsequent drive-through penalty, Rivas dropped to the back of the field and finished the race in seventh place in the ProAm standings without any further incidents. On Sunday, Rivas started the twelfth round of the PCCD from fourth place. After gaining one position at the start, the three-time ProAm champion suffered a puncture in a minor collision and his car had to pit for repairs. With one lap down, he crossed the finish line again in seventh place and still collected important championship points despite a difficult weekend.

Timo Frings, Head of Motorsport at BLACK FALCON:
"We experienced an exciting weekend at the Lausitzring with changeable conditions. Loek proves his driving class race after race and also showed at the Lausitzring that he is one of the PCCD's top drivers. We are very happy about Sören's renewed podium finish. He has established himself in the top group of the ProAm standings and is driving a strong season. In the fight for the ProAm championship, we unfortunately had to accept a setback with Carlos, but we will not give up and will fight for the fourth title in a row until the last race.
